I'm excited to report that a majority of our seal harem was able to trade their keyboards for their snowboards and skis yesterday afternoon to participate in the first-ever AppliedTrust Ski and Snowboard Day at Eldora, where we enjoyed a great team-building experience!
The weather cooperated with sunny skies, calmish winds (for Eldora, anyway), and fair temperatures, and the trails were still in pretty good shape after the recent record-breaking storm that brought 31 inches of fresh powder -- and overwhelming crowds -- to the resort. On this day we were lucky to have much of the mountain to ourselves and get in plenty of runs during our half-day outing. Notable events included a spectacular, goggles-cracking face plant by Jim, a series of snow-spraying crashes by Bryan, an unexpected visit into a tree well by Evi, some requisite "Texas air" by Randy, and a valiant first-ever ski effort by Chris M., during which he quickly and gracefully mastered the art of "pizza and french fries" turns.
Many thanks to Crossi for organizing the event, and to all of the seals that stayed behind to hold down the fort in our absence.
Here are some more photos from the day:
