AppliedTrust Senior Engineer Gives Keynote Presentation at National Association of Bar Executives Conference IT Workshop
BOULDER, Colo. – [February 10, 2010] – AppliedTrust Senior Engineer Terry Morreale gave the keynote presentation at the National Association of Bar Executives (NABE) 2010 Midyear Meeting IT Section Workshop, held in Orlando in February.
Morreale’s presentation was titled “What Every CISO Needs to Know about Managing a Data Breach.” Topics covered included common security myths, types of incidents, details for creating a successful incident handling plan, incident response scenarios, types of forensic evidence and how to protect it, preserving chain of custody, and post-incident monitoring and follow-up.
“I was delighted to have the opportunity to present the keynote session of this workshop,” noted Morreale. “It’s wonderful that organizations such as NABE are helping their members learn about important issues like incident management so that they can be best prepared to address today’s information security needs.”
In her talk, Morreale emphasized that having pre-defined communications plans and response strategies, conducting system and data backups, and gathering and preserving forensic evidence are essential elements of an incident handling plan, and that the time to create an incident handling plan is before an incident occurs.
Morreale is a GIAC gold certified incident handler and is Certified Information Security Systems Professional #78719.
