BOULDER, Colo. – [January 5, 2010] – Applied Trust continued its charitable giving program in 2009, donating a total of more than $47,000 to a variety of nonprofit organizations. “We know that 2008 and 2009 were very hard on community-based nonprofit organizations because of reduced donations, and especially in light of that we are glad to have been able to continue our annual commitment of donating 2 percent or more of our pre-tax profits to nonprofits,” noted Trent R. Hein, Applied Trust’s Chief Executive Officer. “We hope that the situation for nonprofits will improve significantly in 2010, but we remain committed to this goal regardless of economic conditions.” The organizations to which Applied Trust contributed cash and in-kind services include the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, Voices for Children, Nurse-Family Partnership, the National Center for Women & Information Technology, eTown, Rocky Mountain PBS, the Colorado Federation of Animal Welfare Agencies, the Metro Denver Shelter Alliance, the University of Colorado Foundation, the National MS Society, The Children's Hospital Foundation, and Best Buddies.
