When Terry Morreale was in high school and decided she wanted to become an engineer, she was never daunted by the fact that comparatively few women enter the field. After graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder with B.S. in Computer Science, she began her technical career at U.S. West Advanced Technologies, where she was the lead engineer for what eventually became the Qwest (formerly U.S. West Communications) dialup Internet access service, and as well as a product engineer on the MegaBit Services Project, Qwest's (now known as CenturyLink) original DSL product offering.
After that, Terry worked in Technology Intelligence at MediaOne, and then as a consultant for the Gartner Group and Kalos Strategy Group, before joining AppliedTrust in 2005.
At AppliedTrust, Terry focuses on incident management, standards compliance, and helping clients integrate information security best practices into their organization. She also serves as the acting Chief Technology Officer for the National Center for Women in Technology through a partnership with AppliedTrust. Although Terry never felt any barriers to becoming an engineer, she is passionate about encouraging economic self-sufficiency for women and feels that technology fields offer one of the best ways to achieve that, making her involvement with NCWIT a great fit. She also holds a Mediation Certificate.
When not at work, Terry can be found reading, running, hanging out with her family, or enjoying a good glass of red wine.
