Since our founding in 2001, AppliedTrust has been based in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. And though many of our clients are in Colorado, our technical reach has always extended much further. From teaching at international conferences such as APRICOT (Asia Pacific Regional Internet Conference on Operational Technologies) to co-authoring the UNIX and Linux System Administration Handbook, the “bible” of system administration that has been translated into more than 26 languages, to serving clients in various national and worldwide locations, AppliedTrust’s technology leadership spans well beyond our back yard. We are avid promoters of and frequent contributors to opensource projects such as Drupal, and you can find a number of our opensource pet projects on github at https://github.com/appliedtrust.
That said, our back yard is important to us too! AppliedTrust believes in giving back to the community in which we operate, and for us that's the IT community as well as the community of Boulder. Our engineers give back to the local IT community by speaking at tech-related events and by sponsoring local events such as DrupalCamp Colorado and TEDxBoulder. We also host the Denver/Boulder Drupal User Group (DBUG) meetup twice a month.
As for the Boulder community, AppliedTrust is a Business Partner under Boulder County's "Culture of Giving" initiative, a joint effort of The Community Foundation and other Boulder businesses. As a Business Partner, we are committed to giving 2 percent or more of our pre-tax profits annually to the nonprofit(s) of our choice. One way in which we fulfill this is by sponsoring local charitable events, including our annual sponsorship of, and participation in, the Humane Society of Boulder Valley's "Cause for Paws" event each September.
